Fractional Laser Resurfacing Post-Care Do’s

Protect your skin from the sun. Avoid direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily once the skin has begun healing. Reapply throughout the day if outdoors and consider protective clothing or a hat for facial treatments.

Keep the skin clean. Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, soap-free cleanser until the skin has fully healed.

Support a healthy healing environment. We recommend using Hale Derma hypochlorous spray immediately after treatment and during the healing process. Hypochlorous acid helps support the skin’s natural healing response and helps keep the treatment area clean.

Protect the skin barrier. For the first few days, apply a thin layer of CeraVe Healing Ointment to help lock in moisture and protect the skin while it heals.

Transition to a gentle moisturizer. As the skin continues to recover, switch to a barrier-supporting moisturizer to help restore hydration and strengthen the skin barrier.

Use cool compresses if needed. A cold pack or cool compress may be applied for short periods during the first several hours after treatment to help reduce heat, swelling, or discomfort.

Allow the skin to heal naturally. Small pinpoint scabs, dryness, or rough texture are normal as the skin regenerates.

Keep us informed. Please notify us if you experience unusual symptoms or if there are any changes to your medical history or medications during your treatment series.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing Post-Care Don’ts

Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks after treatment, and avoid self-tanners until the skin has fully healed.

Avoid touching, rubbing, peeling, or picking the skin, as this may increase the risk of hyperpigmentation, infection, or scarring.

Avoid exfoliating products or active ingredients such as retinoids, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, acne medications, or other exfoliating treatments for 2–3 weeks after treatment.

Avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, and hot tubs for 1 week after treatment, as excessive heat can increase irritation and inflammation.

Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that cause sweating for 48 hours following treatment.

Avoid alcohol for 48 hours after treatment, as it may increase flushing and inflammation.

Avoid wearing makeup until the skin has begun healing, especially if there are small scabs or crusting present (typically 4–5 days).

Avoid swimming in strongly chlorinated pools or hot tubs until the skin has fully healed.

*HOT AND HUMID WEATHER CONDITIONS CAN AGGRAVATE SKIN IN THE PERIOD IMMEDIATELY BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT.
