What to expect

After your tattoo removal session, you may experience a few common effects as your skin heals:

  • Redness and Swelling
Some redness and swelling are normal and should subside in a few days. Applying an ice pack can help reduce discomfort.

  • Blistering
Blisters may occur. Avoid popping them unless they’re larger than a dime, and if needed, use a sterile lancet to drain them.

  • Scabbing and Crusting
The area may form scabs or crusts—do not pick at them to avoid scarring.

  • Itching
Itching is normal but avoid scratching. Hydrocortisone cream can help reduce discomfort.

  • Sun Sensitivity
Protect the treated area from sunlight. Use SPF 30+ sunscreen or avoid direct exposure.

  • Follow-up Treatments
Multiple sessions may be needed for full removal depending on the size and color of the tattoo.

  • Tattoo Fading
The tattoo will gradually fade over time, so be patient and follow aftercare instructions for the best results.

With proper care, your tattoo will fade significantly as your skin heals.

Tattoo Removal Post-Care Do’s

Apply Healing Ointment
Generously apply a healing ointment, soothing cream, or gel (such as Aquaphor, Polysporin, or Aloe Vera gel) to the treated area to promote healing.

Keep the Area Clean
Gently wash the treated area with mild soap and water to prevent infection. Be sure to pat it dry—avoid rubbing.

Use a Cool Compress as Needed
Continue using a cool compress throughout the day to soothe the area and minimize swelling.

Protect from Sun Exposure
Avoid sun or tanning beds for at least two weeks. Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30, reapplying every two hours if needed.

Use Cool Water
Shower with cool water for one week after treatment and gently pat the area dry—no rubbing.

Stay Hydrated and Rest
Drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity to support the healing process.

Tattoo Removal Post-Care Don’ts

Don’t Touch or Irritate the Area
Avoid touching, rubbing, scratching, picking, or causing friction on the treated area, as it could lead to pigmentation issues, infection, or scarring.

Avoid Excessive Heat and Sweating
Steer clear of hot showers, baths, saunas, or vigorous activities like exercise and cleaning for at least 48 hours after treatment to avoid irritation.

Don’t Soak the Area
Refrain from soaking in baths, hot tubs, or swimming pools until the area is fully healed to prevent infection.

Avoid Chlorinated Water
Stay away from chlorinated pools for 24 hours before and after your treatment.

No Alcohol
Avoid consuming alcohol for 48 hours before and after your session, as it can affect healing.

Reschedule if Tanned or Irritated
If your skin is tanned or irritated before treatment, your session will need to be rescheduled for safety reasons.

*HOT AND HUMID WEATHER CONDITIONS CAN AGGRAVATE SKIN IN THE PERIOD IMMEDIATELY BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT.
